My next game changer in my health and wellness journey was introduced to me through a book called “The Fatburn Fix” by Catherine Shanahan, M.D. In her book she introduces 5 Rules in fixing your fatburn. She gave me a great piece of advice. I always thought that people had either a fast metabolism or a slow metabolism that made all of the difference in your fat burning ability She indicates we either have a well working metabolism or a broken metabolism.

Rule 1 is to avoid vegetable oil, including sunflower, safflower, soy, canola, corn and cottonseed oil. Rule 2, consume slow digesting carbs and avoid sweets. Rule 3, seek salt. Rule 4, drink water and Rule 5, consume smart supplements. Ms. Shanahan suggests that if we do nothing more than Rule 1 avoid vegetable oil, we can do wonders in repairing our metabolism.

I have taken a few things from each of these books, podcasts and magazines and implemented them into my life. This is how I maintain my health and strong body. I have people all of the time asking me how I keep fit and healthy. My answer, “I do what most people will not because, 1. I do not like pain and 2. I like how I look and feel.”
