OVERVIEW: BUILDING HEALTHIER HABITS

WHEN IT COMES TO LIVING A healthy, anti-inflammatory lifestyle, improving the quality of the food you eat is only part of the equation. There are a plethora of other lifestyle changes you can–and should!–make if you’re looking to lower your risk of chronic inflammation and the various health conditions that may follow. Getting seven hours of restful, uninterrupted sleep per night, for example, is a remarkably important factor, but the CDC estimates that 35% of adults don’t get there. Water quality and quantity, exercise and stretching, lowering your exposure to toxic ingredients in household products, daily workplace stress and other factors can all play a role. The science is clear: Although inflammation may present itself as a digestive issue, it can be caused or exacerbated by a wide array of sources.

In the posts to come I am going to pass along the current understanding around a wide array of contributing factors, to help you make easy lifestyle changes that will reduce or eliminate the inflammation activators in your life.
